To set up auto-posting in MAX, connect your channel to a service, choose your content sources, and configure the publishing rules. Once activated, the service publishes posts automatically according to your settings. You no longer need to copy each post manually, although you should still monitor source quality and keep the content relevant. What is auto-posting in MAX?

Auto-posting in MAX messenger means publishing content to a channel automatically according to defined rules. The term covers several workflows: sending prepared posts at a scheduled time, transferring content from another platform, or continuously publishing from content sources.

This guide focuses on working with sources and a publishing queue. That workflow has three main settings:

1. The source determines where the content comes from.
2. The queue determines which materials are used: new posts only or older content as well.
3. The publishing mode determines when posts appear in your channel.

What this looks like in practice

You choose a technology source, enable new posts only, and set two weekday publishing times: 09

and 18

. The service publishes from the queue while you manage the sources and timetable.

Auto-posting is useful for thematic channels, publishers, creators, and businesses with a regular supply of content. If every post requires individual preparation and you publish infrequently, scheduling individual posts may be enough.

Auto-posting, scheduled posting, and cross-posting: which do you need?

Choose a workflow based on your task: send a prepared post later, keep a channel supplied with content, or transfer posts between platforms. A single service may combine these workflows.

What to prepare before you start

You will need a Votway account, a MAX channel you can connect to the service, and suitable content. Before placing an order, decide where posts will come from, whether older content is appropriate, and when publishing should happen.

A simple starting plan should cover:

• - the queue mode: new posts only or new and older posts;

Freshness is particularly important for news. Recipes, tutorials, and craft ideas may be suitable for archive reuse if they remain relevant. Choose a posting frequency that your sources can support: a busy schedule is of little use when the queue is regularly empty.

How to set up MAX auto-posting with Votway

Follow these eight steps in order. Connect the channel and its content first, then configure the timing and check the first result.

Step 1. Select MAX and connect your channel

Open the auto-posting service in your Votway dashboard. Select MAX as the channel platform, follow the connection instructions for that platform, and choose your channel in the connected channel field.

This is the destination channel: the place where posts should appear. The sources supplying those posts are selected separately.

If your channel does not appear in the list, first check that you have completed the connection instructions and granted the required publishing access. Check the schedule after the correct destination channel is available and selected.

Step 2. Choose your content sources

The content sources section offers two options: Votway sources and My sources.

Votway sources are ready-made thematic sources within the service. Available topics include business, economics, technology, food and cooking, cars, sports, fashion and style, and crafts.

My sources lets you connect your own sources according to the service’s instructions. This option is useful when you already have content you want to use for automatic publishing.

Step 3. Configure the publishing queue

Choose whether the service should use older content in the publishing queue settings.

In New posts only mode, a publishing slot is skipped if the queue is empty. New posts are retained while publishing is paused.

Why a slot can remain empty

You schedule a post for 10

, but the source has not published anything new since you connected it. In New posts only mode, the service skips that slot: there is a scheduled time but no content to send.

Step 4. Choose a schedule or the ad timer

There are two publishing modes.

Option A — By schedule

Posts go live on the days and at the times you specify. Use this for a regular timetable, such as two posts on weekdays and one on Saturdays.

Option B — By ad timer

Publishing is linked to a timer after an advertising post. Choose this mode when the next regular post needs to be timed around an ad placement.

Step 5. Set the time zone, days, and publishing times

For scheduled publishing, choose the time zone first. If posts should follow Moscow time, select Europe/Moscow (UTC+3). Use the time zone your channel’s schedule requires, which may differ from the clock on your own device.

Then configure the weekly timetable:

1. Enable the days on which you want posts published.
2. Set the number of posts for each enabled day.
3. Specify a time for every publication.
4. Add another publication when needed.
5. Check the total number of posts scheduled for the week.

If you want randomized timing. The random distribution option applies to enabled weekdays while preserving the number of posts. Date-specific exceptions are not changed. Review the resulting settings to make sure the schedule still matches your plan.

Step 6. Add special dates

Special dates let you set a separate schedule for a particular calendar day. A special date overrides the regular weekly schedule.

Example: one day off without changing the entire week

Your channel normally publishes two posts on Mondays. To skip one holiday Monday, add that date and set it to 0 publications.

You can also use a special date to change the timetable for an event or reduce the number of posts on a particular day. If there are no date-specific exceptions, the weekly schedule applies.

Step 7. Save suitable settings as a template

The schedule and timer templates section lets you save settings and apply them to other channels. This reduces repetitive setup when several projects use similar publishing rules.

After applying a template, review the settings for the individual channel. Its audience may need a different time zone or publishing frequency.

Step 8. Check the order and first publications

Before completing the order, check the selected service option, subscription period, and price. Then confirm that the destination channel, sources, queue, and publishing mode are correct.

Your first-post checklist

Before leaving the workflow to run automatically, check the published post directly in MAX:

• - the material comes from the intended source;
• - the timing matches your settings;
• - the content is current and suitable for your readers;
• - the text, links, and attached content display correctly.

This is a setup example, not a universal recommendation for posting frequency or timing.

The plan and actual output can differ. If there are not enough new posts, New posts only mode will not fill unused slots with archive material.

For a recipe channel, you could consider New and older posts after reviewing the archive. For an economics channel, the right choice depends on the content: basic explanations may remain useful for a long time, while news and current figures can become outdated quickly.

How to choose sources for auto-posting

A good source matches your channel’s topic, updates regularly, and provides content your audience will find useful. Automation speeds up publishing, so a poor source choice can create a recurring content problem.

Before connecting a source, review:

• Subject matter. Do the topics and level of detail match your readers’ interests?
• Update frequency. Will there be enough new material to support your schedule?
• Archive relevance. Can older posts be reused without losing their meaning or accuracy?
• Writing style. Do the length, tone, and structure fit your channel?
• Advertising and links. Does the content include someone else’s offers, signatures, or outdated URLs?

If a source produces fewer new posts than your schedule requires, reduce the frequency or add suitable sources. Include the archive only when reusing its content makes sense.

Standard auto-posting or AI auto-posting?

Standard auto-posting automates publishing from sources. AI auto-posting also rewrites the text before publication, changing its wording.

New wording does not update the underlying facts. AI does not make an old news story current. The queue mode and source quality remain important even when the text is rewritten automatically.

Why is MAX auto-posting not publishing or behaving as expected?

Start with the channel connection and available content, then check the schedule and exceptions. An empty queue, a wrong time zone, and a date set to zero publications can look like the same problem but need different fixes.

How to evaluate results after launch

Check whether the automation works separately from how readers respond.

Check 1. Does publishing follow your settings?

For the automation itself, confirm that the right material appears in the right channel and follows the configured timing. If posts publish successfully but are off-topic or outdated, review the sources and queue.

Check 2. How do readers respond?

To assess the content, compare available metrics for similar posts: views, reactions, comments, clicks, and audience changes. Use the same elapsed time after publication so that you do not compare yesterday’s post with one published a few minutes ago.

Change one thing at a time. For example, adjust the posting time while keeping the topic and frequency similar. That makes it easier to judge whether the new schedule is associated with a change in results. One unusually strong or weak post is not enough to establish a trend.

Why are older posts not published after I connect a source?

New posts only mode uses content that appears after the source is connected. To include the archive, choose New and older posts. Remember that the archive repeats after the queue ends.

What happens to new source posts while publishing is paused?

In New posts only mode, new source posts are retained during a pause. After a break, check whether the accumulated content is still relevant, particularly for news or time-limited offers.

Do I need to rebuild the schedule every week?

No, as long as your timetable stays the same. Scheduled mode uses rules set by weekday. Use special dates for a one-off change, or edit the weekly settings for a permanent adjustment.

How can I stop publishing on one specific date?

Add the day under special dates and set it to 0 publications. This rule overrides the normal schedule for that weekday, so you do not need to change the entire weekly timetable.

Is AI auto-posting suitable for a news channel?

It can help rewrite the wording, but news still requires checks for accuracy and relevance. Review names, dates, numbers, and meaning. New posts only is generally the more appropriate queue mode for time-sensitive content.

Will auto-posting increase my views and subscribers?
